Our Live In Peace Movement was birthed several years ago and has continued to reach the hearts and minds of thousands of individuals locally and abroad.
Training Grounds Five Pillars of Peace: Prosperity, Education, Access, Commitment, Equity
Over the past year, Training Grounds has traveled through several communities, hosting Live In Peace Forums. These interactive events convened approximately 1,500 youth, adults and seniors in solution driven dialogue about achieving a community filled with peace. Our Live In Peace Forums have live performances from local artists, facilitate thought-provoking discussion and provide resource-filled experiences for community members of all ages. Training Grounds promoted peace, love and healing with the residents of the Stoddard Terrace community. "Love Around 37th" was hosted by The Love More Movement's Ayanna Gregory & Yohance McKebela (daughter and son of Civil Rights Activist Dick Gregory). The team paid homage to the late Sheila Lucas, beloved mother, grandmother and sister who was tragically killed on May 23rd in SE, DC.
COMMUNITY HIGHLIGHT - KEEP DC ALIVE FORUM
Community Leaders and Members participated in zoom conference panel to discusss the impact of gun violence. How community members are on the front line working to help prevent gun violence and address the root cause of issues. Training Grounds' Violence Intervention Program Manager, Dwayne Falwell participated as an Special Guest Panelist, and had this to say "It was a very elignhtnening panel. The panel included, eight City Council members, and a panel of youth who spoke out on their traumas and experiences with gun violence. I was proud to represent Training Grounds in this opportunity to promote change".

Position: Workforce Development Coordinator
Summary of Duties
Training Grounds seeks an experienced workforce development professional to coordinate training and professional developmental support for program participants with adverse backgrounds.
As a Workforce Development Coordinator, responsibilities would include the following:
Ascertaining participant employability by assessing participant’s education, work experience, and motivation; Assessing other needs including housing, mental and medical health, and other barriers to stable employment in accordance with internal models and protocols
Coordinating job readiness training/workshops and preparation, including resume/cover letter writing, mock interview coaching, and networking tips; help participants develop and achieve career goal plans
Providing coaching and resources to help participants maintain stable employment
Developing and implementing strategies for outreach, recruitment, and retention
Building employer connections with the goal of matching participant to appropriate employment opportunities
Refer participants in need of wraparound supports, including housing, mental health, and medical health services to the case management team
Attending designated community events with the objective of recruiting new participants and employer partners
Developing and maintaining partnerships with other service providers and employers
Analyzing program data and uses data trends to inform changes to service delivery and program processes and procedures
Regularly inputting necessary information into case management software; maintaining and updating electronic and physical participant files in accordance with program policy
Recruiting and directing volunteers to ensure program outcome meets program goals with guidance from the leadership team
Submitting weekly and monthly individual and program reports as assigned
